HOW TO USE

HOW TO READ NFC CARD

For iPhone

① Unlock your screen, then hold the top part of your iPhone over the card.

② A banner reading “NFC Tag Detected – Website” will appear at the top. Tap it.

③ The “UMUI” Okinawa Album website will open.

④ If there is no response, turn on the NFC function or open the camera and scan the QR code on the back of the card.

For Android

① Unlock your screen, and on the home screen, hold the back of your smartphone against the card.

② NFC antenna locations differ by model. Try touching the card to the upper, middle, or lower part of the back of your smartphone.

③ If there is no response, turn on the NFC function, or use the camera to scan the QR code to view the album.

If UMUI LOCKET🄬 cannot be read

For iPhone

① NFC is supported on iPhone 7 or later with iOS 13 or above.
 
② The NFC sensor is located at the top edge of the device.

③ For iPhone XS / XS Max, XR, 11, SE (2nd generation), and iPhone 12–16 series:
・ No app is required.
・ Hold the card while the screen is active (not locked).

④ For iPhone 7, 8, and X
・With iOS 14, you can scan using the NFC Reader in the Control Center.
・For versions earlier than iOS 14, installing an NFC Reader app is required.
(Open the NFC Reader app first, then tap the card.)

⑤ Please also use the QR code on the back of the card.

For Android

① Unlock the screen and, on the home screen, touch the card to the Osaifu-Keitai (wallet) mark on the back of your smartphone.

② You need to turn NFC settings ON.
Check the settings as follows:
Settings ⇒ Connections
(wording varies by manufacturer)

⇒ NFC / Osaifu-Keitai settings
⇒ Confirm “NFC / Osaifu-Keitai Lock” is OFF
⇒ Confirm “Reader/Writer, P2P” is ON

③ The position of the NFC antenna differs by device model.

    Hold your smartphone’s NFC antenna over the card and move it slowly. Cases or antenna placement may affect sensitivity.

  • Q2. Is the NFC reading method different for iPhone and Android?

    Yes. iPhone: NFC antenna is near the top (around the camera) Android: Usually in the center or lower back area Please check your device’s antenna position.

  • Q3. What if my phone does not support NFC?

    You can view the same shared album by scanning the QR code on the back.

  • Q4. Does slow loading mean the card is broken?

    No. Loading speed depends on your network environment (4G/5G/Wi-Fi).

  • Q5. Can I view the album from overseas?

    Yes. It can be viewed anywhere with an internet connection.

  • Q10. Where is the album data stored?

    The NFT data is securely stored on the blockchain. UMUI provides a viewing link to access it.

  • Q11. Can the data disappear?

    NFT (full on-chain data) will not be deleted. However, temporary viewing issues may occur due to network instability or server load. We use full on-chain NFTs that remain permanently recorded as long as the Symbol blockchain continues to exist.

  • Q12. I cannot access the album. What should I do?

  • Q13. Can I share the URL with family or friends?

    Yes. The URL stored in this card is a shared viewing link to the Okinawa memory album. You may freely share it.

    Yes. Around strong electromagnetic interference (large appliances, magnets), NFC may react poorly.

  • Q15. If the card is dropped or broken, can it be restored?

    The card cannot be repaired, but as long as you know the URL, you can continue viewing the album.

  • Q16. It became wet. Can I still use it?

    If NFC does not respond, you may use the QR code on the back to view the album without issue.

  • Q17. Is UMUI responsible if my smartphone malfunctions?

    No. Since the product only provides a URL, UMUI is not responsible for device issues.
